The First Workshop on Lidar Measurements in Latin America was held at Hotel Plaza in Camagüey city from 6 to 8 March 2001. This workshop was carried out in the frame of project entitled “Characterization of Stratospheric and Tropospheric Aerosols in South and Central America” which was sponsored by the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI). This project linked Camagüey Lidar Station (CLS) in Cuba, with universities of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Rutgers in United States. It was the first workshop sponsored by IAI in Cuba. There was written a Report about events activities and its results. The report was published in the IAI Newsletter of March-June 2001.
